Ökonomierat Rebholz R π No. Brut 2008
This is prickling tinged with vine. Even if the name PiNo may seem technical, we have hedonistic dream material in the glass. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sparkled using the classic method, i.e. in the bottle and hand-shaken. And that from the sparkling wine master Volker Raumland in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, who only drinks for close friends. And then the dream vintage for sparkling wine, 2008. The tasted copy was only disgorged in March 2017. 85 months of yeast storage! The foam crown formation is fine and even. Small bubbles rise gently and slowly. The bouquet is reminiscent of vanillin, but then also fresh brioche, some vanilla biscuits, burnt milk and ripe apples. First the fine perlage on the palate, then a laser-like acid comes through, you think you have Riesling sparkling wine in the glass. That's 2008 with razor-sharp precision. But then there are always brittle notes and Christmas winter apples. The sparkling wine fades away very slowly and is highly complex. Opulent and determined, straightforward at the same time. A spot landing.
