The founder of the company, Don Andrés Brugal Montaner, left his native Spain in order to become rich in the Caribbean. After he had learned the craft of rum production in Cuba, he was drawn to the Dominican Republic, more precisely to Puerto Plata, around 1855. The rums of the Brugal company still mature in this city today. With the 1888 Ron Gran Reserva Brugal extends its line of high-quality and noble products. It is stored for at least 14 years in selected barrels, whereby it matures for a while in oak barrels and then in sherry barrels. Tasting notes:Colour: Dark amber.
